Wale’s heating up. Later today, he plans to drop his mixtape Summer on Sunset, but before that, he takes it “Back to the Sun.”
The new track is a short clip, at less than two minutes, but it’s filled with punchlines and rhymes. Pulling inspiration from Tupac Shakur on the day after his birthday, Folarin rhymes about “addressin’ the mass public” with an “attitude” that says “f**k it.”
Later, he also reflects on his focused ways. “Eyes is on the prize, moon is in the sky,” he raps. “I used to sit up at night like, ‘I knowin’ this isn’t right.’”
Summer on Sunset will make its world premiere on DJ Khaled’s We the Best Radio on Beats 1 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
