Where is the current Oyi Local government Chairman? Where are the current NDU chairpersons? Where is the Igwe of Nteje? What have they done, or doing to nip in the bud or quell down the communal clash cum blood bath brewing in Ifite- Nteje community of Oyi Local government area, in Anambra state.

Scores of promising Nteje
youth have lost their lives in the fresh clash between
the Ifite youth, and the Iruatu/Orukabi faction, of the
same youth, Who now call themselves- Ifite- Ogidi or
Ogolo group.

Recently, as though hell was imported from underground to Nteje, the loud bang of gun fire raids the quiet air of Ifite- Nteje. Uncertainty hangs heavy like a roof, over ifite-Nteje.

People are trapped in their homes, commercial activity is almost at a halt, farmers are scared to go to their farmlands. School children; too terrified, as they walk to school.

The frenzy battle between the two aforementioned
parties, has snatched scores of potential youth.

These victims, where shot dead, like animals in a
hunting game, by their fellow towns-men, over land
disputes. To imagine the pains and trauma, the
family members of these dead young men are passing through, is haunting.

Also, how we shaded every loving fiber of humanity in us, to descend so low, to this soulless beasts, would take ages to explain. The thought of young men dutifully fighting battles they don't really understand clearly beats ones imagination.

Since I was born, now I am getting old, this is the first I am seeing this ugly incidents unfolding in Ifite-Nteje.

Nteje people are known all over the world, as peace-
loving, welcoming, kind, tolerating, creative, hard-
working industrious people.

We slay and shine as long as good reputation is concerned. We are not known for violence; it is not in our makeup.

This kind of archaic land battles is not what our
youth ought to channel their energy on, in this contemporary age and time. We rather should, busy ourselves, with creative thoughts and works, that
would bring about lasting developments and towering progress for us and our great town.

In human history, dialogues, has proven to be very much potent, in curing the sickness of human differences, than violence. Violence creates room for more violence, which may lead to regrettable loses.

Now is indeed trying times in our town. But, We can overcome these trials, if, we open our arms, and embrace dialogue, to settle whatever disagreement we are engaged in ... Yes, we can!

Once again, I am using this medium, to call on those in authority- ndi onu ruru n'okwu- the government, traditional rulers, well meaning sons and daughters of Nteje, to come to the aid of Ifite-Nteje community, and Nteje in general, to decisively
and objectively, deal with this land disputes issues that has been rocking our boat and has been threatening our co-existence for some time now.

Also, am appealing to young Nteje men like me, who
are the lead actors, in these conflicts; whose emotions are flaring up, to come to calm, give room for peace;it is priceless. This is not the time to point fingers and blame, not the time to play victim, now is the time to take responsibility for our lives and our home; to organize our knowledge for the stability of our collective existence. Nteje has come of age.

Those who lost somebody, Ndonu! Two wrongs, as said, can never equal a right.

For our families- Ndi anyi Vulu n'anya- For posterity,
for the greater interest of Nteje, let us not throw away
the baby with the bath water, because of what we were told, or what had happened.

Let us not allow the enemies of Nteje to throw parties and rejoice over us.

Finally, Nteje is our HOME, given to us by our Creator,to build and maintain. What do we stand to gain if we sacrifice our home in the filthy alter of selfish interests? Let's not let it be our story.

Let's build our home.

Let's build a united NTEJE.

Let's give peace and progress a chance.

Together, let's tell a great story of our home.

Daalunu!

You’re really, truly happy and that’s something you’ve been waiting a
while to say. For once in your life everything feels whole and complete.

Then the next thing you know, years have gone by. You see them on Facebook and you realize you don’t know who they are anymore.

You don’t know what their schedule is like, you don’t know what’s happening in their life, you don’t hear their stories.
You don’t laugh like you used to, you don’t know where you belong, but you know it’s not in their life anymore.

You realize just how lost you are without them.

You don’t know how time escaped you like this and
how your best friend can turn into a total stranger.

You don’t know how you lost touch, when your connection faded or what changed between you, but you remember when you said both said forever.

You know your road together hit a dead-end and you had to move forward on your own, you had to go your separate ways and inside it’s killing you, it’s still killing you.

You miss them terribly, but you know
another “I miss you” text won’t do anything, you know it won’t change anything and it can’t bring the way things used to be back.

It hurts, it’s lonely and it’s suffocating. You feel like you’ve been hit hard in the chest and had the wind completely knocked out of you. It’s like part of you
is missing now that they’re gone.

You look back at all the old pictures and you can’t help but wonder why things had to end this way, you can’t help but wonder why life took you both in different directions.

But you don’t try either, maybe it’s because you’re over the failed attempts, maybe it’s because that part of your life is over, maybe it’s because as much
as you think you miss them you more so just miss that part of your life when everything felt good and you were truly happy. Maybe that’s what you miss
more than the person.

Missing them is painful – it’s a heartache and a giant lump in your throat you just can’t swallow. It’s
wanting to go back more than anything.

It’s not being ready to accept that things will never be that way again.

The truth about outgrowing people is that we all do it. Time and life move forward it doesn’t wait for anyone.

Eventually people change, interests change, feelings change.

Jobs consume our lives, family becomes our world and one day, we look up at the mirror and realize we don’t even know who we are anymore or how we got here.

It doesn’t stop the hurt, the wishing you could go back in time, or the anger you feel knowing you made the most of the time you had together, but it still wasn’t enough.

You need those people in your life, the ones who make forever seem too short.

But the truth is, we didn’t get forever. We only get a few years before life
leads us down different paths and we wake up alone wondering how we got there.

I miss the time we spent together and I miss you. I wish we could stop the hands of time and just go back. Go back to better days, days where we could
just sit around the living room and laugh over nothing because we were happy. We were really, truly happy.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02548066027593903305noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2692731265896134460.post-86457030433227060522016-12-15T02:12:00.001-08:002016-12-15T02:30:25.002-08:00A New Report has Examined the Grave Dangers Women get Themselves and their Newborn Female Babies into When they Wear Fake Earrings (READ HERE)

According to Caress Manufacturing Company, an England based company, has warned Nigerians and
other African countries on the use of fake and cheap
earrings and piercing kit for women especially new born children.

Mediagists reports that the company through its Business Development Manager, Samantha Nicholson, said that the use of the fake earrings or piercing kit can cause one to go deaf.

She explained that the fake earrings are made from brass which can cause irritation and other skin and ear reactions.

According to Samantha, “Brass can cause an allergic reaction leading to a skin infection.

Common reactions are spots and rashes. Skin might get itchy, dry and irritated and appear red, flakey or scaly.

Countries like Nigeria, Ghana, The Gambia, Ivory Coast are the main countries that are prone to this fake product.

She further explained that fake piercing kits and earrings are to be made from good environment and gold, “The quality of our product is of utmost important to us.

We’ve found with most fake studs they are made with brass with just a flash of gold.

“Not only is this a health hazard but also the studs will tarnish quickly and won’t last long Samantha revealed that the 30 year old manufacturing company is sounding the warning gong because there are Chinese
companies supplying Nigeria and other African countries with fake earrings and piercing kits.

According to them, “We are facing problems with China producing inferior and cheap imitations of our studs.

They are trying to pass them off as our best-selling
No1 Original Studs. Not only is this an infringement on our trademark it is also damaging our brand by supplying substandard products illegally under our name.

“We are working with our attorneys in Nigeria to try and get these fakes off the market place and prosecute anyone that is selling these illegal and unsafe products,” she added.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02548066027593903305noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2692731265896134460.post-5967413237020811292016-12-15T01:45:00.001-08:002016-12-15T02:31:17.994-08:00Don’t Fall Victim: Here are 4 Easy and Sure Ways to Identify Fake Naira Notes

FAKE NAIRA NOTE - If you do not want to fall victim to fraudsters who deceive people with fake naira notes, then you must read this tips carefully.

The fact is that con men cannot produce a real naira note. Yes That’s a fact. Even if they can, they can’t
produce real note without bloating overhead cost.

In view of this, there is always obvious differences between a real naira note and it’s counterfeit. These differences are not hidden; they are there only if you look well enough, even for an untrained eye.

You should also avail yourself of the fact that the use of counterfeits is punishable under the Nigerian constitution whether you’re aware or note because “ignorance is not an excuse in the court of law”.

Taking advantage of the marked differences between real and counterfeit naira notes, I’m going to list ways you can identity counterfeits.

1. Check Using Mercury Bulbs

In the real paper naira notes (N100, N200, N500, N1000), they are some texts that are not visible to the Unclad eye; they are only visible through the rays from a mercury bulb. So, to verify the authenticity of a naira note, bring the said note in contact with rays from a mercury bulb. If it is real, you will see a greenish-yellow
glow of the note’s denomination across it. For example if it is a 1,000 naira note, you will see a glowing 1000 (in numbers) written across the note and smaller 1000 written on specific spots on it.

The same goes for other paper Naira denominations.
If the money is in a stack or bundle and you want to test for counterfeits, arrange the monies (it should be the same denomination all-through) properly (i.e. the front of each note in the bundle in contact with the back of the next note and top to top and bottom to bottom) and subject a side of it to rays from the
mercury lamp, the greenish-yellow glow should be visible on the first and last note in the bundle if no counterfeit(s) is hiding in it.

In either the single note and the bundle (if properly
arranged), absence of this greenish-yellow glow means the note or a note in the bundle is fake.

Sorry, I could not get you the picture but the glow is very visible. Make sure to switch-off other light sources so as not to hamper the result. While mercury bulb is available at shops where electrical materials are sold, this method is preferable for business owners or people who handle bulk cash like bankers e.t.c

2. Through Water Or Other Liquids

The colours used in printing counterfeits are soluble in water and some other liquids while that of real money is not.

Wet the suspected money or a part of it with little water or any other liquid ( I have only tried water and petrol) and scrub the wet part with your thumb.

Counterfeits will wash-off their colours as you do this but real will not. Do you notice the way the colours of an artwork painted with water-colours wash-off when water touches it?

That’s the kind of wash-off I mean.

3. Detect Using Ribbons

On every Naira note, there is a thin silvery ribbon running from the top to the bottom of the note; it is like a rope on old notes.

In real note, you can feel and even pull-out this ribbon on some old notes.

However, in counterfeits, there’s something
that looks like a ribbon but it’s not—just paint.

Try scratching that ribbon, it come off like the silver panel on a recharge cards. Hope you get?

4. Detect by Feeling It With Your Palms

While counterfeits are made of ordinary papers, real money is made of a special kind of paper.

Feeling the paper-quality of counterfeits, you will find out that it is just like that of common paper found on the street.

The colours of counterfeits also betrays it. The drawings on counterfeits are more blurry, blotchy and sometimes more darker than real
paper money.

Of the four methods listed above, the first,
second and third is more reliable.

Any question?Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02548066027593903305noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2692731265896134460.post-44507464704038899322016-12-15T00:53:00.001-08:002016-12-15T01:02:02.098-08:00You Can Never be Scammed Online After Reading These: These are 5 Ways to Keep Information Safe on the Internet

Making transactions online be it buying or selling can be very risky at times and one can fall a victim of fraud.
These are ways you can play safe online.

It is almost unavoidable to buy products online or give personal information to trusted websites.

Unfortunately, that information is not always safe and criminals can easily access sensitive information about you.

Today we have come with a guide for regular people who don’t have time to develop a deeper understanding about wireless networks, yet need to protect their data over wireless channels.

* Be Safe on Social Media

Social media like Facebook, twitter, e.t.c, may seem like a safe place to share some of the more intimate details of your life, but you should be vigilant about what you post on these networks. Even seemingly
innocuous information, like your birthday or address, can be used by criminals for more dangerous applications.

To avoid this, personalise the security settings in your social network accounts. If you share a post with Personally Identifiable Information, make sure to only select trusted individuals who can see it. Additionally, be wary of anyone you don’t know in real life making appeals to you for such information.

* Protect Your Credit Cards

When making purchases online, always be sure that the website you enter your credit card information into is secure. The URL should begin with “HTTPS,” not simply “HTTP.”

Do not make purchases on an unsecured network, and
remember to logout of your customer account when using public devices.

To be extra careful, load a prepaid credit card with limited funds for online purchases. This reduces the risk in case someone steals your information.

* Use the Cloud for Back-Ups

Backing your important files up is essential in case your devices are ever stolen. Over the years, cloud computing has become more secure, as large technology firms like Amazon and Microsoft take control of the market. Even hospitals and health care centres in advanced countries have started using clouds for data storage, easy access of files and to secure confidential documents.

A common example is Gmail and Google Drive, where you can upload the files and access them from anywhere in the world. The only requirement is a working Internet connection; that isn’t hard to find these days. Moreover, we can secure files with user-based or group-based permission. This is the future of backing up digital files on the clouds.

* Factory Reset and Drive Wiping

More often than not, simply “deleting” something from your computer or mobile device will not permanently remove the information from the machine. Before you sell or throw away your old machine, make sure that the drives are fully wiped and that the machine is given a factory reset.

Without this extra step, whoever gets your device next will have access to even the most secured information on your machine, including files you previously thought were deleted.

* Password Protection

these days require you to have a complex password before signing up, and while this may appear to be an inconvenience at first, it’s really in your best interest.

Passwords should be impossible to guess by family and friends, which mean you shouldn’t use birthdays, anniversary dates, family member names, or other obvious identifying information.

Ideally, everyone will use a random password generator, and have those random passwords saved on a secure and encrypted file on their computer. Since that may be a bit extreme for most Internet users, just be sure to use different passwords for all important accounts (bank, email, etc.). Additionally, don’t use
accurate information for password recovery questions like your mother’s maiden name, as these details are easy to get for the right cyber criminal.

What do you have to say about these?Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02548066027593903305noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2692731265896134460.post-43774822654899296262016-12-14T05:42:00.001-08:002016-12-14T06:20:24.109-08:00DANGER: Read What Too Much Masturbation Can Do to Your Pen!s

Today, many men do not know that they are risking themselves each time they begin to use their self.

Guys, kindly read up what over masturbation can do to your p*nis.

Over stimulation of the pe.nis can lead to persistent softness of an erection, while the disappearance of a morning erection can signify a hormonal imbalance.

Weak erections can vary, from poor blood circulation to anxiety issues, but for men who over masturbate, the
weakness can occur because of a hormonal imbalance.

Hormonal Reserve

Think of s*x as a battery. The more you use it, the faster you lose it. An erection occurs because of a healthy dosage of hormones and neurotransmitters. The urge for s*x starts with testosterone.

But men who ejaculate often lose testosterone faster than their bodies can replenish it. With little testosterone, erections become weaker.

Meanwhile, dopamine must be released to stimulate the pe.nis, while acetylcholine must be present to keep the “excitement” level high.

Nitric oxide, a signaling chemical, must also appear in order to provide the proper signaling between the brain and the pe.nis for a healthy erection.

Over masturbation depletes all of these Nero chemicals.

Lowered dopamine requires more stimulation to stay “hard”, while decreased acetylcholine levels ruin the flow of blood to maintain an erection. Depleted nitric oxide levels lead to a decrease in communication between the brain and pe.nis.

How to Make the Hormones to Return to Normal State

For hormones to return to their normal state, men must refrain from masturbating as often.

The individual who has grown addicted to the activity may have trouble quitting. Still, an individual should aim to quit gradually. Next, taking hormonal supplements can help stabilize testosterone and neurotransmitter production for a healthy erection.

If you suffer from weak erections, take Botanical Solutions for Erectile Dysfunction to help stabilize your production of nitric oxide and to increase the elasticity of blood vessels for improved erection quality.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02548066027593903305noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2692731265896134460.post-87395598751963970472016-12-13T06:40:00.001-08:002016-12-13T07:03:47.791-08:005 Things Nigerian Parents Expect From a Son-in-Law to beNigerian parents expect their daughters to get married someday.

However, one thing they are particular about is the kind of man their daughter(s) bring home as a future husband.

With more 250 ethnic groups with Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa leading the pack, the expectations may be different but they are interwoven and almost similar.

These presumptions are largely influenced by culture,
religion, heritage, and exposure of the families involved.

This said, a would-be or prospective son-in-law should take note of the following tips shared by Jovago, Africa’s No.1 hotel booking portal if he wants to be accepted by a prospective bride’s parents as in Nigeria, and the African continent at large, a parent’s blessing and endorsement of a marriage is important.

1. He Must be Independent

No parent will allow their daughter to ‘marry’ a man who cannot take care of himself.

Everything about their relationship is hinged on love rather than the man’s ability to take of the family he will raise. In fact, only a handful of women today will take that kind of man to her parents.

Nigerian parents do not demand much. He should have a reliable means of livelihood or survival enough to take care of the bride.

2. He Must be Respectful

Yorubas value respect. This is an aspect of culture they do not toy with. Even if the parents accept you, the family members will never.

They will always point it out especially if it is obvious.

However, you do not need to worry much if you not marrying a Yoruba girl.

However, this does not allow a would-be son-in-law to treat the parents with disdain.

3. He Must Know How to Dress Responsibly

Laced ears, plaited hair, sagged trousers and blinks will simply get you fired as a son-in-law.

You should dress the way you want to be addressed. In summary, dress responsibly. If that’s your style, try as much as possible to shelve it whenever you are visiting your bride’s parents.

By the way, don’t let her parents catch you dressing like a gangster , they will not hesitate to tongue lash you.

4. Religiously consciously

Some parents may not be too keen on this. Despite this, whether you are a Muslim or a Christian, you should be religiously upright.

Nigerians are one of the most religious black nation in the world. They expect their daughter to marry into a pioubattery

He Must Not be a Wife Beater

Wife battery is now prevalent in the Nigerian society. In time past, this wasn’t the case.

Today, there have been several reports of domestic violence with women bearing the brunt.

So, parents always try to enquire from their daughters to assure them that their prospective son-in-law is not prone to wife battery.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02548066027593903305noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2692731265896134460.post-37805839666884440942016-12-12T22:28:00.001-08:002016-12-12T23:15:09.416-08:00See the Popular Fruit that Naturally Increases the Size of a Woman’s Breasts and Man’s Testes

Recently, two experts on Monday in Lagos, advised men to eat dates fruit, saying its consumption would
enhance their s*xual performance and increase their libido.

They told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that dates fruit, when taken appropriately by men, could also improve health conditions in many other ways.

Dr Aminu Kazeem, a s*xual health therapist who works at Energy for S*x Clinic in Lagos said men who had performance problems should incorporate date fruit in their diet.

He said “a date fruit is a one-seeded fruit of the date palm tree, which is botanically known as Phoenix dactylifera and belongs to the family of Palmae (Arecaceae) plant.

“The common English names are dried dates, dates, date palm, etc; while the Hausa's call it "Debino", usually oblong, with varying sizes, shapes, colours, consistencies and quality.

“Eating dates will promote sperm quality and quantity as it is one of the best natural fruits used for male fertility.

It also increases the size of testes in men and the size of breast in women.

A nutritionist, Mrs Toyin Adeola, also said that eating dates could treat s*xual impotence, help to improve s*xual activities and increase the production of s*x hormones.

She added that the fruit was good for the health of both males and female.

She said “date contains many vitamins and minerals which are essential to boost s*xual power even in older persons.

“The fruit is packed with amino acids for s*xual stamina, as well as a good dose of fruity sugars which make them sweet.”

The nutritionist, who described the best way it could be taken to achieve best result, however, advised diabetic patients to seek doctor’s advise before consuming dates.

She said “it is advisable to remove the seed and grind seven or eight pieces of dates and soak in water for about 2-3 hours.

“Add one glass of milk and one teaspoon of honey and drink at least once a day to boost sexual power.”Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02548066027593903305noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2692731265896134460.post-52431994076787940622016-12-10T10:05:00.001-08:002016-12-10T23:33:31.623-08:00DOWNLOAD Music : Samsong – Capable God

The group made the call at a news conference in Abuja to voice their concern over the bill.

The FCT Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Concerned Christian Citizens of Nigeria (CCCN) on Friday told Christians to reject the Sharia Bill, recently passed in the House of Representatives .

The two bodies made the call at a news conference in Abuja to voice their concern over the deliberation on the bill by the lawmakers .

The groups argued that allowing passage of the bill would amount to clear violation of the provisions of Section 10 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Spokesman for CCCN, Mr Asuquo Allotey, said that any further attempt by the House of Representatives to deliberate on the bill would polarise the nation along religious lines .

Allotey also called on well-meaning Nigerians to denounce the bill for the sake of unity, peace, progress and prosperity of the nation .

He said “The proposed bill which is self - serving and divisive should be out rightly rejected. The bill should be avoided by all means .

“We , therefore , urge Nigerians , who have the interest of this country at heart to denounce this bill.’’

“It has the propensity or power to dehumanise all Christians in many ways in addition to the gross negative effects of the sharia law upon their lives .

“We believe that the time has come for all well meaning Nigerians to stand up and demand for the return of our dear country to a true secular
state.

“We should have a country where every citizen enjoys equal rights and opportunities under our law, ’’ Allotey said .

He argued that the bill was a gross violation of the fundamental human rights of Christians in Nigeria if passed into law .Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02548066027593903305noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2692731265896134460.post-48468258737249217322016-12-10T04:18:00.001-08:002016-12-10T23:22:08.172-08:00Tiwa Savage’s husband, Teebilliz has shared the reasons he attempted suicide

Months ago, precisely on Thursday, April 28, 2016 Tiwa Savage’s husband Tee Billz tried to commit suicide. He attempted to take his own life by jumping off the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge.

Now, he has shared his reasons as well as advise those who find themselves in his shoes.

According to his post on Instagram which he actually
culled from Tyrese, it reads: “Black people have been suffering with deep rooted real pride and DHO when it comes to seeking help…… We laugh at people for going to see therapist, we say IF YOU SCARED GO TO
CHURCH”…

We look down on people who seek help who are suffering from mental health and depression, or drugs and alcoholic abuse or even gambling but the truth is most of us are fucked up and need help for real – Growing up in the hood I witnessed ALL LEVELS of mental, emotional and physiological abuse – I’ve witnessed murders, rapes, drugs drive by shootings and drug and alcohol abuse and physical abuse in my home…….

I wrote about this in great detail in my first book…….. it’s
hard to be normal when you’re literally on fire in your mind and spirit……. all the money and fame in the world can’t stop you from thinking those thoughts –
They call Kanye crazy and a genius in the same breath but in the end he’s a son, a father and a husband rather he’s doing things you agree with or not he’s still a man who needs help just like most of us…….

Y’all think talking your momma or cousin and smoking a blunt or popin a molly is enough nope……. I would encourage you to seek help I have been for many years and my life is so amazing because of it .

Growing UP in environments and in homes where you see and are exposed to certain things…. you can easily RELOCATE but the effects are still there and won’t go away until you seek professional help – sending love, prayers and all HEART to everyone who can read this if you’re suffering please I’m begging of you SEEK HELP suicide is real and going crazy is real…… if you don’t get real help……. #VoltronChairman -Tyrese”Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02548066027593903305noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2692731265896134460.post-1496132075982165042016-12-10T04:08:00.001-08:002017-05-06T05:59:19.238-07:00BREAKING NEWS: Some Foreign Doctors Kidnapped In Lagos

Fact is that schools as well as several learning institutions
around the country offer formal education to their attendees. However,
while this kind of education garnered is considered essential for
survival in the labor market, the education it offers fails in
comparison with the knowledge that our parents, especially mothers,
impress upon us as we grow in the family unit.

Each
mother is different and has unique teaching skills; however, the way
Nigerian mothers dish out their own lessons can be quite exceptional and
there are certain lessons that most of them almost always teach their children.

From moments of laughter, tears - from the endless hidings,
lessons about life, strength, and more,Konga Travel , Africa’s No.1 Entertainment portal shares 6 lessons every Nigerian mothers teach.

1. Sign language

Sign
language is officially for people with hearing disabilities, however
most Nigerian children would probably score an A in any sign language
exam as their mothers tutor and equip them with the skill from a young
age. Nigerian mothers always communicate through their unique sign
language. If she suddenly stops in the hallway and stares at you, make
sure you instantly try to remember what chore or errand is left hanging.
Also, when offered sweets/food during a courtesy visit, it is wise to
look in the direction of your mother and receive the “it-is-alright” or
the “try-that-and-die” stare. Basically, you learn the sign language
automatically.

2.You Must not Steal

Growing up with a
Nigerian mother, you learn that all sins are not the same. Some sins are
greater than the others and one of worst of them all is “stealing”.
Stealing is worse than any other crime you might commit as in the case
where you are found guilty, you find yourself automatically "returned to
factory settings" with the nearest available whip.

3.There is a Price for Every Action

With
Nigerian mothers, you must certainly learn that every action, no
matter how insignificant, has a consequence. You do something great, she
pampers you and rewards you with tender care, but you do something
ignoble, she chastises you accordingly. Even in cases where you suffer
grave consequences as a result of what you have done, she most likely
won’t help you come out of it or heal, so that next time you know not to
do it again. In some cases, when someone comes to lay a complaint
against you, she chastises you publicly and may even tell an outsider to
flog you next time you do such.

4. School and Church is a Must

Nigerian
mothers, especially the educated ones take school and religion very
seriously. In their eyes, school is more important than anything else in
life, the first thing you have to do is study and the rest are details.
Church is also equally important, and so, you cannot miss church
service or prayers on any given day.

Nigerian mothers will almost always
try to impact religion in you, and in the case your father and mother
hold dissimilar views, it's usually more likely that you follow mum.
Again, you cannot argue with her about religion or get too liberal.

5. Family is the most Important thing in the World

This
is a lesson you learn very quickly when you have a Nigerian mom and you
are not the only child. Older kids are expected to take care of younger
kids and if the mum comes back to find an unpleasant situation, the
whipping is communally shared by all kids. Sometimes, even when you are
the only child, she still teaches you to have great regard for extended
family, no matter how awful they are.

6. Anyone can be Your Enemy

Nigerian
mothers can be paranoid when it comes to safety. They teach you at an
early age not to trust anyone as you do not know what they have in mind
against you. From folk tales to real life stories and demonstrations
they impress in your mind that anyone literally can be your enemy and
you always have to be on your guard and involve God in everything.

We will gladly appreciate your comments.

As an active recruiter (I am the owner of mediagists ), my associates and I - we have frequently witnessed a lot of
candidates complaining on 'mishandling' their job interviews whenever
they asked to give an example or describe a situation giving a real-
life example to show their relevant experience(s).

There are many sure ways to handle this situation, but the STAR technique might be the most 'reliable' and classic one.

First of all, lets start with the definition of what star in this article stands for:

What is STAR?
STAR stands for:

Situation (describe the situation that you were in)

Task (what was required of you/ what needed to be done?)

Action (what did you do exactly by yourself and what did you delegate to others?)

Results (what did you finally achieve?)

Thus
STAR can be used -when applied properly- to provide all relevant
answers to every skill/ competency questions during a job interview.
Please use STAR to provide clear and specific examples of all your relevant skills/ competencies
which you have. Just make sure that you answer in a clear, concise and
engaging manner, without forgetting to use the SMART way of describing your achieved measurable results.

Steps on Using STAR
Star
is of little use unless you can think of appropriate and really
relevant examples from your own (and not form your team's) experience.
Describing the situation, is about explaining the setting to the interviewer so what will you describe as a result will make sense to him/her. Be brief but very specific about what was the situation and what has caused it.
.
Many people struggle with giving a list of task that were needed to be done to resolve that situation. Don't confuse this please this with the task-list on your Job Description. So, what was really your exact role in the given situation?
.
On the Actions part, these should be the things that you -and not your team- did to perform the mentioned tasks and the relevant how.
That should also include any tools which you have used, e.g. a
screwdriver or a spreadsheet. The more specific you are, the clearer
your experience is perceived in the 'eyes' of the interviewer.

Make sure that your actions are reflecting / clearly showing off (if possible all of ) the necessary skills the future employer is looking for.
For example, if you show how you make other team members get involved,
that implies both the team- player the employer is searching for and
also someone with good communication and negotiating skills; even
possibly a future team leader!
.
The result does not have to be a positive result or a good one.
Go ahead and talk about a 'bad outcome' as long as you can clearly
explain why things went wrong, what you learn from that situation/
experience (i.e. you are mature enough to develop 'Best Practices') and what will you do differently the next time you were faced with that very same situation.

Results have to be SMART
(google it please if you are not familiar with John Whitmore's SMART
model); otherwise, they have very little value for the interviewer and
you can be simply seen as 'lucky' or someone who is not really 'aware'
on how to structurally resolve and improve situations.

Think of results in the tune of "I saved the company an x- amount of money" or "increased sales by 20%" or "improved customer loyalty by 5%" or "setup system/ mechanism/methodology to process 1000 loan- applications per week", etc..
.
Note to Interviewers/ Hiring Managers
Dear
Interviewer/ Hiring Manager, you should expect the candidates to be
able to relay their professional experiences to you, using the 'STAR-way'. These STAR- examples will help you in finding your next 'shining star'- candidate to join your team.
.
In Conclusion
STAR
is a simple - yet very powerful methodology to help you demonstrate all
your relevant skills/ competencies to the interviewer, using real life
example.

Prepare -yes, prepare- some good examples in advance,
so that you would avoid been nervous during the interview having to
recall an experience instantly and communicate it most efficiently.
Now that you have done your homework and you got some great examples to quote, go STAR that interview.
Good luck.
